CKCA’s 50th anniversary is about you and our industry.
There’s lots to be proud of and plenty of reasons to get into this industry and stay! We hear the stories time and time again.
How can we show the next generation of cabinetmakers the huge potential that resides within this industry? We have a proven record of innovation and success. This industry has been around for well over 50 years and there’s so many reasons to become part of it.
This is your chance to help write the history of this industry and how it evolved from just a few hundred companies in the late 50’s/early 60’s to the more than 4,000 companies-strong across Canada today.
Sharon and Jake Wolters from Nu-Way Kitchens in Guelph, Ontario (a business that started in 1964!) kindly prepared a draft timeline of the progress this industry has made over the past 50 years. But we have some gaps and need your help to finish it.
Have your say!
Take a look at this timeline, if you see something missing or something needs to be added or changed, send us an email at firstname.lastname@example.org. We will add it to the timeline.
Why? Because timelines give a visual perspective of how the industry has evolved.
- By knowing how the industry has grown, we can inspire future generations of cabinetmakers.
- Help prepare the generation taking over this industry, let’s inspire them to build a future for the industry knowing the solid foundation on which it was built. This is an innovative industry sector, just look at the last 50 years and you’ll see why.
- Celebrate the possibilities for tomorrow and let’s get more people interested in this successful industry sector.
Here’s to another 50 years in a great industry!
