Sales and Marketing Manager

  • Develop and maintain policies, procedures, supporting documents of Sales and Marketing (inclusive of Sales Representative training manuals, etc.) – oversee for effectiveness the sales team interface with other areas of business including accounting, shop, logistics, installation and service groups
  • Responsible for problem identification, investigation, appropriate levels of monitoring to foresee potential problems, act on for resolution to keep them from becoming major issues whether people, process, or policy related
  • Responsible for submission and overall effectiveness of Sales budgets (inclusive of historical sales data period reviews of company, market trends, individual performance to targets and business goal alignment)


  • In conjunction with business ownership, oversee development and delivery of sales team proposals and tenders
  • Responsible to develop, maintain, present reports on sales and marketing measurables – inclusive of sales to budgets, sale postmortems for lessons learned and improvement, make recommendations


  • Sales Designer staff:
    • Performance – mentoring and coaching, holding accountable to standards, policies, procedures, timely correction where problems persist using progressive discipline
    • Communications (team meetings, scheduling showroom hours, etc)
    • Hiring, training (Sales manual | Catalogue), terminating
    • Recognition (incentive programs, awards, promoting group activities, etc.)
  • Drive departmental improvements to achieve best results, eliminate or minimize problems, make recommendations for the overall good of the company, act on improvements from sales and marketing perspective
  • Overall responsibility for customer showroom including sales scheduling, design and keep displays current to trends and maintain up-to-date samples | displays
  • New product and trend development – establish and maintain regular developmental design team lunch and learns – facilitated | supported by subject matter experts


  • Resolve or participate in the resolution of customer driven concerns
  • Hosting |participating |presenting | promoting – home | trade shows, GOHBA | NKBA association and committee activities, sponsorship events, award ceremonies, builder and renovator networking activities, Algonquin College design program advisory, etc.
  • Overall responsibility for marketing activity | effectiveness and social media presence – radio, marketing books, television, Velo signs, print, online ads, maintaining photo gallery, etc.


  • Create, implement, and maintain online review management strategy – Google, Homestars, Laurysen Kitchens website (includes maintaining and allocation of leads), Facebook, Instagram, blog to effectively manage brand, reputation, respond to all customer rating complaints | improvement opportunities and reward programs
  • Overall responsibility for marketing analytics to optimize return on investment and minimize wasted marketing dollars | maximizing effectiveness
  • Develop, facilitate management review, and implementation of finalized annual marketing plans


Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Business Administration degree with concentration in marketing and sales or equivalent in sales and marketing management experience
  • Must possess strong knowledge of cabinet and vanity manufacturing in Canada | residential construction and kitchen design
  • 5+ years of experience in marketing analytics, automation or database marketing experience
  • Excellent command of all marketing tactics with ability to strategically foster and create high-value client relationships
  • Excellent writer and communicator with ability to align communications to larger company tone
  • Excellent ability to analyze data and interpret the “story” or actions
  • Very strong attention to detail
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, action and results oriented
  • Design knowledge and an understanding of 20|20 Software
